Imagine the speed and embrace the sounds of the annual Honda Indy Toronto. The event is gearing
up to take over Exhibition
Place on Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10. Be in the core of the action as racers
speed along Princes’ Boulevard, curve onto Lakeshore Boulevard before gliding left onto Ontario Drive. Watch
as racers lead onto Princes’ Boulevard, across Manitoba Drive to Nova Scotia Avenue and rush passed the
checkered flag.
This year the Honda Indy celebrates 25 years of fast-paced excitement and racing history
in Toronto. Each year brings a special guest to act as the Grand Marshal. In years passed, actor Greg
Kinnear, and KISS member Gene Simmons have graced the Honda Indy
Toronto with their presence. But being the 25th anniversary of the event, the guest Grand
Marshal needed to be someone truly grand and fittingly, Canadian.
This year the classic command “drivers, start your engines” will come from Ottawa native
Dan Aykroyd. The multi-talented Canadian is a comedian, actor, writer, musician and winemaker. As a
self-proclaimed race fan, Aykroyd will have the ultimate fan experience as he starts the afternoon race,
meets the IndyCar drivers and takes a pace car ride around the track.
In addition to the IZOD IndyCar Series race and practice sessions, attendees can explore
the live performances and interactive activities such as the Ferrari Challenge, IZOD IndyCar experience
2-seater rides and VIP pit walks.
